Oregon's wide receivers are as good as advertised
While the Ducks may have some questions at quarterback, there is no question about the talent or depth of their wide receiver group.
11 players caught passes in Oregon's 61-28 win over Georgia State, a number that is sure to drop. However, with WR Devon Allen coming back from injury and Darren Carrington set to return from suspension in October, the Ducks will get even stronger at the position as the season goes along.
"Those first three games for any program, the coaches get a feel for which guys the offense moves smoother with," WR Bralon Addison said.
Addison, Charles Nelson and running back Royce Freeman have been the most targeted receivers so far; however, expect for WR Dwayne Stanford and TE Evan Baylis to be targeted more as conference play begins against Utah.
"The coaches are going to go with the best guys out there against the better competition, so that's why the numbers dwindle down like that," said Stanford. "It's like a tryout, you could say, whoever's hot going into those conference games, that's who they're going to ride."
