Penn State opens up the 2016 season with a non-conference matchup with Kent State from the Mid-American Conference. The Nittany Lions are a double-digit favorite and will be looking to send the Beaver Stadium crowd home happy to start the season.

The game is set for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff and will be shown regionally on the Big Ten Network. The coverage will be split with the broadcast of the Murray State at Illinois game, also set for 3:30 p.m. Scott Graham and former University of Iowa and NFL quarterback Chuck Long will handle the broadcast coverage of the game.

    The Nittany Lions are double-digit favorites against the Golden Flashes. Overall Penn State holds a 4-0 record over Kent State, winning the last two contests by a combined score of 58-0. There’s a lot of excitement surrounding the team thanks to a lot of returning experience and a new offensive scheme.

    With trips to Pittsburgh and Michigan on the horizon, things will get much tougher for the Nittany Lions after the battle with Kent State.
