Petersen doesn't regret move to UW
The first year is always the hardest, or so they say. Washington’s Chris Petersen would likely agree.
In speaking with The Jim Rome Show this past week, Petersen was asked about his first year as the man in charge of rebuilding the Huskies.
“Hard year. Hard year, good year, challenging year,” Petersen said, according to CBS Seattle. “I think that’s one of the reasons we came over here was to open up a new can of worms, so to speak. The thing at Boise had been going on for a long time and it’s such a great place. But you kind of start over, and you reinvent yourself and do those types of things. But it was good. This job is so challenging anyways, and then when you come to a new place with new culture, and new kids, and new ways. It’s like starting from scratch.”
Then came the question of whether or not Petersen regretted his decision to uproot his life to Seattle and take on a bigger challenge.
“You know what, honestly I never, never for a second thought that way that I shouldn’t have done this. Without question. In fact, had I not done it, I don’t think I would have been able to live with myself. You never want to not do anything in life because you’re scared, because you won’t succeed. It’s hard sometimes, it really is. Especially when you’ve got a really good situation where you know you can stay and be really successful by not just not changing yourself.”
Petersen’s second year will kick off in early September against, who else, Boise State.
