Philip Rivers visited NC State and gave a fiery motivational speech

Over the last few years, there really hasn't been a lot for NC State football fans to get excited about. The Wolfpack haven't won nine games since 2010 (Russell Wilson's final season in Raleigh before being forced out by Tom O'Brien), and the last time they won 10 or more games was 2002.

Of course, that 2002 season was special beyond just wins and losses, but also because of who was leading the Wolfpack to all that success. That player was Philip Rivers, who long before he became one of the NFL's most consistent quarterbacks in San Diego was one of the best QBs in college football history at NC State. Rivers finished his career in Raleigh as the second-leading passer in NCAA history, tossing for over 13,400 yards during his four seasons in the ACC.

He returned to Raleigh this weekend and took some time to chat with the current NC State team, giving what can best be described as a very, very fiery speech.
