Memphis has decided to show solidarity with those living in Alabama and Mississippi affected by the recent holiday storms by wearing green ribbon helmet decals for the Birmingham Bowl against Auburn on Wednesday.

Interim Tigers coach Darrell Dickey announced the decal Tuesday.

"One of the things coach (Justin) Fuente put in place Day One is if you do things right, the little things, so to speak, if you give back to your community, if you are a person of character that reaches out to other people and is available to help and give somebody a helping hand, it makes you a better person, it makes you a better player," Dickey said, per AL.com.

Going up against 6-6 Auburn, 9-3 Memphis is seeking to reach double-digit wins in consecutive seasons, an incredible feat considering the Tigers have achieved only one 10-win season in the school's 56-year history.
