When Mississippi State redshirt freshman defensive lineman Keith Joseph Jr. died in a car accident Nov. 6, his fellow freshman safety Jamal Peters lost more than just a teammate -- he also lost his closest friend on the team.

Peters was the last member of the Bulldogs team to spend time with Joseph, as he dropped him off with his father just before the car accident that took both their lives. As Mississippi State prepares for the biggest game of its season, Peters has chosen a special way to pay tribute to his friend's memory.

If you happen to see an odd-numbered Mississippi State safety on the field against Alabama this weekend, you'll now understand why, as Peters has chosen to honor Joseph by wearing his No. 99 jersey against the Tide.
