Photo: Swinney sends Beamer a token of appreciation
It’s been a busy season for No. 1 Clemson and Dabo Swinney, but the Tigers coach still found time to pay tribute to a legend and colleague.
A few weeks back Virginia Tech’s Frank Beamer, the winningest active coach in college football, announced that he will retire at the end of the season, prompting Swinney to send a token of his appreciation.
The Clemson coach sent a football to Beamer that read, “Coach Beamer, nobody has ever done it better. Appreciate your example + friendship. Gold bless!”
Beamer’s Hokies are 5-5 (3-3) and if they can find a way to win one of their last two games they will become bowl eligible for the 23rd straight year.
Many cool tributes to Coach Beamer arriving. Appreciate Dabo Swinney's wonderful gesture! #Hokies pic.twitter.com/4OuGJI1WNk
