Pinkel has message for committed prospects
As currently stated, Missouri has 15 publicly-known commitments for the 2016 class.
A vast number of the prospects hail from the midwest region (Missouri, Illinois) while a good chunk also come from the Southern portion of the country (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia).
The announcement of Gary Pinkel's resignation could ultimately have an impact on recruiting -- and whether all of these currently-committed players will sign. Pinkel is under no obligation to try and get these players to stick around once he departs, but he's doing everything he can to ensure that the talent pool within the program is high.
Pinkel personally called all of the committed prospects on Tuesday evening. He spoke about the caring nature many of them demonstrated towards his personal plight. In addition, the head coach spoke about the special nature of the university, and how these prospects have a chance to be 'a Missouri Tiger for life."
