Charles West, a BYU signee from the class of 2015, was shot in the left arm while playing basketball in his home town of Coppell, Texas, according to the Coppell Police Department.

West, a 5-foot-10, 187-pound three-star running back who, was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital and released a few hours later.

Upon his release West tweeted: "For all who is concerned I'm fine. May the lord be with everyone."

On Monday Coppell Police announced they have arrested a suspect in the shooting and say they are "aware of a video that shows the shooting incident."

In January, West was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after a woman told police West allegedly sexually assaulted her and held a knife to her throat. According to the arrest warrant, the woman advertised services "that entail foot fetish and dominatrix activities." She refused to take a forensic examination, police said, and West's legal representation denies the allegations.
