On Tuesday, Coppell (Texas) police arrested Montay Kentrall Howard, 18, in connection with the shooting of BYU signee Charles West at a middle school basketball court on Sunday.

West, 18, a three-star running back recruit from Coppell, signed with BYU on Feb. 4 and was playing basketball on Sunday night when he was shot in the left arm.

According to police, the two were in a dispute over money and had fought earlier in the day. Later on, Howard allegedly shot West in the left arm, which led to him being taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.
