Quarterback questions persist for Maryland
Maryland football is four games into the season. Are the Terrapins ready for a third starting quarterback?
Coach Randy Edsall said no Sunday during a teleconference with reporters who cover the Terps.
“Caleb (Rowe) will be the quarterback,” Edsall said, per the Washington Post. “As we all know, it doesn’t all fall on him. He has to be better, and everyone around him, the offensive line, the running backs, the wide receivers all have to be better.”
Rowe made his second start of the season Saturday at West Virginia and completed only 5 of 20 passes for 67 yards. He threw four interceptions, including two that ended potential scoring drives.
Daxx Garman, a senior graduate transfer from Oklahoma State, relieved Rowe in Morgantown but was not much more effective.
He completed 4 of 9 passes for 81 yards, including a 46-yard touchdown pass to Jahrvis Davenport.
