Questions remain at running back for Badgers
The Wisconsin Badgers have a long history of excellent running backs. That can't be disputed and is a large reason why many assume that even after losing first round NFL pick Melvin Gordon, the show will roll on.
Enter Corey Clement who rushed for 949 yards last season as Gordon's understudy
The talent is obviously there with Clement but that doesn't mean there are not details to be nailed down in this rushing attack. According to running backs coach John Settle, consistency is an issue:
“Our thing right now is we’re not consistent — and that’s from the top down,” Settle said. “I want no mistakes, and that’s from every player and I’m going to push my best player the hardest.”
Tailback depth seems to be a concern going into 2015 season. The stable of backups is deep but without a stand out player. Perhaps the most important piece of the running puzzle is the uncertainty along the offensive line where the Badgers must replace starters.
