Read about Devontae Booker's inspiring journey to play for Utah
Utah running back Devontae Booker wasn't always on a path to greatness. Sometimes, he wondered if he'd ever even play major college football.
Coming out of high school, Booker's scholarship was pulled from Washington State due to low SAT scores. Then, he tried to go to Fresno State -- conditional on a qualifying test score. After a solid attempt with the ACT, more complications stood in the way of Booker and a legitimate scholarship offer from a Division-I university.
After two years starring at a junior college in California, Booker was once again ineligible for Division-I play due to an issue with an online English class. This forced Booker to miss the 2013 season, and with the extra time, Booker was able to raise his son.
Flash forward, however, and these days Booker is an All-Conference running back for a Top 25 program. He also managed a 3.5 GPA last semester and hopes to prove himself as a real Heisman Trophy contender.
"I never thought I would do stuff like this," said Booker, in his feature on CampusRush.com. To read more, click here.
