Recruiting: Did Texas Tech land its future pass-catch combination?
Texas Tech fans hope to hear this play call for years to come: Duffey to Cox-Wesley ... Touchdown!
The Red Raiders have landed commitments from what could be a dangerous pass-catch combination for years to come with Mansfield Lake Ridge quarterback and Elite 11 finalist Jett Duffey and Cibolo Steele wide receiver Antoine Cox-Wesley pledging to join Kliff Kingsbury's team in 2016.
Both commitments came this week and within 24 hours of each other.
Duffey is ranked as the No. 37 dual-threat quarterback in the country and No. 160 overall prospect in the state, according to 247Sports Composite. Duffey was named MVP at the Dallas Regional over prospects like Ohio State commit Tristen Wallace and highly touted Texas commit Shane Buechele.
Last year as a junior, Cox-Wesley caught 29 passes for 529 yards with five touchdowns. He is the No. 217 wide receiver in the nation and No. 181 overall prospect in the state, according to 247Sports Composite.
