Report: Ex-Texas A&M QB Kyle Allen transferring to Houston
Former Texas A&M sophomore quarterback Kyle Allen quickly became one of the most sought after transfer targets the moment he announced his decision to leave the Aggies and head coach Kevin Sumlin's program. It appears after a few weeks of evaluating his options, Allen has decided to stay in state and join the Houston football team.

FOX Sports' Bruce Feldman is also reporting Allen's transfer to Houston.
In recent weeks, Allen was seen at an Ohio State bowl practice and had been reportedly courted by Oklahoma, Nebraska and Colorado State in addition to Houston.
The Cougars, under first-year head coach Tom Herman, just capped a 12-1 regular season with a decisive 38-24 win over Florida State in the Chick-fil-A Bowl on New Year's Eve. Herman of course helped guide Ohio State to the 2014 national title as the team's offensive coordinator behind third-string quarterback Cardale Jones.
Herman has a reputation as a "quarterback whisperer" or sorts, which was validated further with the Buckeyes' issues at quarterback this season in his absence, despite returning all three quarterbacks from the title team.
Due to NCAA transfer rules, Allen will be forced to sit out the 2016 college football season but has yet to be redshirted, meaning he will be eligibility to compete as a redshirt junior for Houston in 2017. Allen was a five-star recruit coming out of high school and threw for 3,532 passing yards and 33 touchdowns in his two seasons in College Station.
