Report: Five-star lineman Greg Little decommits from A&M
The 2016 Texas A&M recruiting class took a major hit Monday as five-star offensive tackle Greg Little of Allen, Texas announced his decommitment from the Aggies, according to Bleacher Report.
Little was named the Offensive Line MVP during last week's The Opening, broken down here by FOX Sports' Bruce Feldman, and is currently ranked the third overall player in the nation by recruiting site 247 Sports.
A&M had held Little's commitment since last summer. Little's teammate and quarterback from last season, Kyler Murraym has enrolled in College Station. Apparently the bond between those two may not be enough to draw Texas' most sought after player.
Little's mother, Terry Lacy-Little, released this statement following the news of her son's decommitment: "At the time he committed, he knew that was the place he wanted to be," Lacy-Little said. "Fast-forward [to now], he felt it was too early in the process to commit. Because this is such a life-changing event, he feels he has to go through the recruiting process to evaluate where he wants to go."
While the decommitment won't prevent the 6-foot-5 1/2, 305-pound Little from signing with the Aggies come signing day, the fact he is having second thoughts cannot be a good sign for A&M.
It appears another school, many think Alabama, has forced Little to back off this commitment. Expect this recruiting saga to go on until National Signing Day 2016.
