Georgia Tech’s mega-matchup with Notre Dame on Sept. 19 at South Bend may have just gotten even bigger.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that ESPN is considering making Notre Dame the site of its “College GameDay” broadcast.

According to the report, an ESPN spokesperson said the game is one of four or five that is being considered.

The Yellow Jackets began the season ranked No. 16 in the AP Poll and routed Alcorn State, 69-6, in their season opener. Notre Dame, the No. 11 ranked team in the AP Poll, rolled past Texas, 38-3.

With the competition to host the “College GameDay” crew heating up, it’s imperative that both teams enter their Sept. 19 matchup remaining undefeated.

Georgia Tech will look to do so this weekend when it hosts Tulane, while the Fighting Irish will attempt to preserve its perfect record on the road against Virginia.
