Report: Hackenberg 'gets scared in the pocket' according to Hoosiers D-lineman

Indiana defensive lineman Adarius Rayner may have given Penn State some bulletin board material for the Nittany Lions' visit from the Hoosiers scheduled for Saturday.

PennLive.com published on Monday comments Rayner made about PSU quarterback Christian Hackenberg, a junior whose production has declined since he was Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2013.

"(Hackenberg) gets scared in the pocket if you collapse it," Rayner reportedly said during Big Ten Media Days in Chicago in late July.

Radner also said he would take Indiana quarterback Nate Sudfeld over Hackenberg because Sudfeld is a more accurate passer.

So far this season, Sudfeld is second in the Big Ten with an average of 255.4 passing yards per game and No. 3 in pass efficiency rating. His availability for the game against Penn State is in question after he left the Hoosiers' loss to Ohio State with an ankle injury originally suffered a week earlier.

Hackenberg is 11th in the Big Ten in passing yards per game (164.8) and 10th in pass efficiency.
