Report: Kevin Clune to be hired as Oregon State's defense coordinator

Oregon State is expected to announce the hiring of Kevin Clune to be its defensive coordinator, according to The Oregonian.

Clune, who was at Utah State, will replace Kalani Sitaki. Sitaki is now the head coach at BYU. 

Oregon State head coach Gary Andersen has worked previously with Clune at Utah State, Southern Utah and Utah. Clune was Andersen's linebacker coach at Utah State from 2009-12.

As Utah State's defensive coordinator in 2015, he led a unit that was ranked No. 17 in total defense and No. 13 in pass defense. 

The Beavers were one of the worst defensive units in the nation in 2015 and ranked No. 116 in total defense, No. 114 in scoring defense and No. 115 in rushing defense.
