Report: Michigan loses defensive tackle to injury, possibly for season

Michigan football may be working with one less body on its defensive front this season if reports of an injury to Bryan Mone are true.

Andrew Gorringe, a reporter for Scout.com based in Mone's hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah, reported via Twitter the sophomore defensive lineman is likely to miss the 2015 season because of a broken ankle suffered in practice.

An attempt to confirm by MLive.com was apparently rebuffed.

Mone played in 12 games last season, including one start. He had nine tackles and recovered a fumble.

A four-star recruit rated the No. 1 defensive tackle prospect in the West by Scout.com two years ago, Mone was in the mix with several others to rotate in the interior of new coordinator D.J. Durkin's defense.
