Report: Missouri DT Harold Brantley 'seriously injured' in car wreck

Published Jun. 21, 2015 6:38 p.m. ET

The Missouri Tigers have experienced an unprecedented run of elite defensive line play in recent seasons with NFL draft picks Aldon Smith, Sheldon Richardson, Kony Ealy, Michael Sam, Shane Ray and Marcus Golden. The next player expected to lead the way for the Tigers line is defensive tackle Harold Brantley, but those plans may be put on hold as the tackle has reportedly been involved in an car accident Sunday.

According to the Columbia Tribune, Brantley has been transported to the hospital after suffering "serious" injuries.

Brantley's 2000 Chrysler Concorde was traveling southbound when it went off the road to the left. Brantley overcorrected to the right, according to the report, and the car slid off the right side of the road, hit a guardrail and overturned. Neither Brantley nor Stock were wearing seatbelts during the accident.
