Report: Oregon St. DC Sitake could be BYU's next head coach

Published Dec. 16, 2015 3:25 p.m. ET

Oregon State defensive coordinator Kalani Sitake could be on his way to BYU, according to The Football Scoop.

As Football Scoop mentions, Sitake would only be offered the job in the event that Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo does not accept the position.

Oregon State head coach Gary Andersen addressed the Sitake-to-BYU rumors on Monday.

"In my opinion, if BYU wants Kalani, they will have to come get him and make it a special deal," said Andersen, via The Oregonian.

Sitake joined Oregon State as the team's defensive coordinator this past season. He was Utah's defensive coordinator in 2014 when the Utes racked up 55 sacks, the most in the nation.

Sources tell us that Oregon State defensive coordinator Kalani Sitake is prepared, and is expected, to become the next head coach at BYU, in the event that Ken Niumatalolo turns the job down.
