Report: Rutgers WR slammed woman into concrete surface
More details have emerged in the incident that led to the suspension of Rutgers receiver Leonte Carroo, and they are ugly.
The Bergen Record obtained a copy of a complaint filed in Piscataway municipal court alleging Carroo slammed a female "down on a concert surface, injuring her left hip, both palms, left elbow and the left side of her head."
The alleged incident occurred Saturday night outside the Scarlet Knights training center, and Carroo was suspended indefinitely following his arrest.
He has been charged with a disorderly persons' offense and faces a domestic violence charge. He was released on $1,000 bail.
In the same story, the arrest of another former Rutgers player was also reported.
Defensive lineman Jamil C. Pollard has been charged with robbery, conspiracy and burglary stemming from a December incident in a Rutgers dorm. Former Rutgers fullback Lloyd M. Terry was also charged.
Nine arrests of now former Rutgers players -- six of whom were still on the team at the time of their arrests -- have occurred in recent weeks.
Monday New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie told reporters at a campaign stop he felt media reports had blown out of proportion what equate to "disciplinary problems with teenagers" that are part of "the normal course on a college campus."
