Report: starting OL Tate arrested for outstanding search warrant

Published Sep. 28, 2015 12:26 p.m. ET

Memphis starting right tackle Trevon Tate was arrested over the weekend, according to The Commercial Appeal.

Tate was stopped by the Germantown police for speeding Friday evening. Once Tate's name was ran through the system, it was revealed Tate had outstanding warrants in the Houston area (where Tate hails from) for felony theft from a person and a violation of probation. Tate was then taken into custody.

It isn't known as to what the ultimate outcome will be in terms of Tate's involvement with the football team. He started the past two games for Memphis, after beginning the year in a reserve role.
