Report: TCU QB Boykin drops 20 lbs. after ditching fast food, reading up on animal rights
It took a meal at McDonald's for Trevone Boykin to learn more about what he was eating.
Staring at the sandwiches, "It just did not look right to me," the TCU quarterback told Sports Illustrated's Campus Rush. "The meat didn't look right."
Since that day, the senior has involved himself in education about factory farming of animals and animal cruelty.
Boykin's resolved to no longer eating fast food, which has contributed to the senior losing 20 pounds, SI reports.
The Heisman candidate's two dogs also helped him make a stand against animal cruelty.
"It's just like having kids," Boykin told SI. "I have to take care of my dogs."
The dogs, in turn, also help take care of him.
"It keeps you mellow. You stay in the house. You don't have to go do anything," Boykin said. "You can have fun with them."
