(STATS) - Tennessee Tech has scheduled a news conference on campus Monday to introduce its new football coach, reportedly Temple offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield.

Satterfield, 39, was considered a candidate while Temple prepared for its recent Boca Raton Bowl appearance. FootballScoop reported Sunday that Tennessee Tech has selected Satterfield to replace Watson Brown, who retired after posting a 42-60 record over the last nine seasons at the Ohio Valley Conference school.

Satterfield has been Temple's offensive coordinator since 2013.

The East Tennessee State graduate has plenty of coaching experience in his native Tennessee, including as the offensive coordinator at Chattanooga from 2009-2012. He also was an assistant at Chattanooga from 1999-2001 before spending the 2002 and '03 seasons at Tennessee as a graduate assistant. After serving as an assistant at Richmond in 2004 and Western Carolina in 2005, he was the offensive coordinator and then associate head coach at UT Martin (2006-2008).
