Report: Top recruit in jail, will not come to Missouri

Published Feb. 4, 2016 6:01 p.m. ET

4-star prospect Marvin Terry was expected to be one of the crown jewels within Missouri's 2016 recruiting class.

A dominant outside linebacker/defensive end out of Dallas, he had offers from all across the country before deciding on becoming a Tiger. As National Signing Day hit on Wednesday, Terry's letter of intent was never signed, nor sent to Columbia.

Terry was arrested Jan. 25 on multiple assault charges and warrants, according to a report from The Kansas City Star

Allegedly, Terry caused physical harm to the mother of his child on multiple occasions. The graphic detailing by the victim included Terry "hit[ting] her numerous times with his fist and kick[ing] her on the ribs, causing her to feel pain and bruising." The affidavit also said Terry threatened to kill the victim.

As such, it doesn't appear as if Terry will be joining the Missouri football program.
