Report: UGA transfer QB Park planning visit to Alabama

Published Jun. 25, 2015 2:44 p.m. ET

Following the incoming transfer of former Virginia quarterback Grayson Lambert, the Georgia Bulldogs lost one of their own talented players at the position to transfer when Jacob Park decided to leave Athens

Now Park may land at an opposing SEC school, one that happens to play in Athens this season:

If Park does indeed transfer to Alabama, he would be forced to sit out the season due to NCAA transfer rules. However, Park could help Alabama prepare for the Bulldogs' players and scheme, seeing as how he has an intimate knowledge of both from his time as a member of Georgia's team.

The fact that Alabama continues to pursue transfer quarterbacks, some continue to speculate that Ohio State's Braxton Miller is still on the Tide's radar as well, doesn't bode particularly well for the players current on Alabama's roster.

This begs the question, if Alabama annually signs elite high school quarterbacks, why are they so interested in the transfer quarterback market?
