Report: Virginia Tech interested in UNC coach Larry Fedora
Ever since Frank Beamer announced his retirement there have been several candidates linked to the Virginia Tech head coaching job. You can now add Larry Fedora to that list.
On Monday, FootballScoop reported that Virginia Tech athletic director Whit Babcock is very interested in Fedora, the coach of the No. 17 Tar Heels (9-1).
Per FootballScoop:
“Sources tell FootballScoop that Whit Babcock considers Larry Fedora a strong candidate at Virginia Tech. We are also of the understanding that Rich Rodriguez will not be a candidate for this position.”
Fedora has guided the Tar Heels to a Coastal Division championship and has gone 30-18 in his four seasons at Chapel Hill. Ironically, Fedora will be in Blacksburg this Saturday when UNC takes on Virginia Tech (5-5, 3-3) at noon in Beamer’s final home game.
