Rhode Island dominates Albany (NY) 45-26

KINGSTON, R.I. (AP) — JaJuan Lawson threw for 317 yards and four touchdowns, and Rhode Island beat Albany (NY) 45-26 on Saturday for its first 2-0 start since 2005.

It's also Rhode Island's first 2-0 start in Colonial Athletic Association play since 2001.

Lawson completed 22 of 28 passes, including touchdowns to Marven Beauvis, Isaiah Coulter, Aaron Parker and Tyler Burke. Parker caught nine passes for 146 yards and Coulter grabbed nine for 109 yards. Zoe Bryant Jr. scored on a 1-yard run after Brandon Ginnett recovered and returned a fumble 30 yards.

Dev Holmes' recovery of a fumble led to Parker's TD catch and Ahmere Dorsey's 69-yard punt return made it 31-7 at halftime after the Rams had outgained the Great Danes (0-2) 360 yards to 180.

Vincent Testaverde had a 1-yard TD run and was 21 of 32 for 228 yards passing for the Great Danes (0-2), with TD passes to Jerah Reeves and Karl Mofor. Mofor also scored on a 24-yard run.
