Rival ADs at Baylor, TCU each named an Under Armour AD of the year
Bitter Big 12 rivals Baylor and TCU shared the conference football championship, and now both schools' athletic directors are basking in the glow of two thriving athletic programs as recipients of the 2014-15 Under Armour AD of the Year award.
Baylor's Ian McCaw and TCU's Chris Del Conte were both named as winners as selected by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. They were two of four athletic directors selected from the Football Bowl Subdivision, along with Kentucky's Mitch Barnhart and UConn's Warde Manuel.
With a month to go in the school year, Baylor is enjoying a banner year with a school-record eight Big 12 Conference championships, one national team title, a national individual title and 14 teams earning postseason bids on its resume to-date.
TCU football captured its first Big 12 championship in just its third year in the conference. The Horned Frogs won the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl and were ranked third in season-ending polls. Football was one of five TCU sports to reach the top 10 nationally, with the Frogs' baseball team reaching No. 1 earlier this season and a contender to return to the College World Series.
