Robb Smith Says "Believe In The Process"
During the weekly coaches press conference, defensive coordinator, Robb Smith, wants everyone to focus on the process.
Many have heard of the “process” but few know what it actually means. Mostly we all know that we have to trust it. This past Wedsnday, when recapping the 56-3 spanking Auburn gave Arkansas, Robb Smith wanted to remind us to trust the process.
According to the coaching God, Nick Saban , the process is the core belief that the willingness to prepare in a methodical, daily basis is the key to success. So should fans just calm down and trust that Smith is preparing his defense the right way? If the product speaks for itself, I’d have to say no we don’t trust his “process”.
“You know you gotta be focused on the process in times like this. Listen, that result nobody wants. It can’t happen and it can’t be tolerated but you gotta focus on the process. We believe in a process around here, that the process has worked. We gotta go back to work and fine tune and enhance that process where it’s worked well and certainly eliminate where the process hasn’t worked and that’s where your focus is.”
This was the worst result by far from this defense but poor results are nothing new to this team. The Razorback defense hasn’t been great or even good, since 2014. Auburn rushed for more yards than any other school in Arkansas history. In year four for Bielema and year three for Robb Smith, this is unacceptable.
The coaches plan on moving guys around to see what fits and what would give them the best results. The lineup changes didn’t have names but they did say it could be a tackle at end or a WLB to a SLB. I just want to know why it takes a 56-3 loss with four games left to start finding what works. That isn’t a process. That’s just damage control. Woo Pig.
