Ronald Jones II is close to becoming USC's greatest freshman tailback ever
USC has had many great running backs, including Heisman Trophy winners Reggie Bush (vacated), Charles White, Mike Garrett, O.J. Simpson and Marcus Allen. However, none of them have ever done what freshman tailback Ronald Jones II has a chance to do.
With 710 yards rushing on the season on 89 attempts, Jones is entering historic territory. Jones is only 148 yards shy of Charles White's school freshman rushing record of 858 yards.
Jones and the Trojans have at least three more game left this season and likely more. It stands to reason that Jones will stand alone as the only USC freshman to tally over 1,000 rushing yards.
