Rutgers coach previews what his team will face in Penn State

Rutgers football coach Kyle Flood takes his team to Penn State this weekend for a rematch of what was a taught affair in 2014 that was eventually won by the Nittany Lions.

On Monday during his weekly press conference, Flood gave a rundown of what he expects to see from coach James Franklin's team this Saturday at Beaver Stadium.

"Going to Happy Valley to face a very talented football team, a very well-coached football team with one of the premier quarterbacks in the country (Christian Hackenberg), with one of the better defenses in the country, and a defensive line that is certainly as talented as some of the best defensive lines in this conference, and there's quite a few."

Flood singled out All-Big Ten tackle Anthony Zettel as a key to the PSU defense.

"Everybody that plays against them, he gives them problems and he is a spectacular player," Flood said. "So he's somebody we are going to have to be conscious of. He's somebody we're going to have to be aware of. We'll have to try to get as many double teams on him schematically as we can and ultimately win some one-on-ones against him, too. That's not easy. We have two guards in Chris Muller and Dorian Miller that I think are playing gone a good level, and we need them to continue to do that as the competition gets better."

Flood went on to say Penn State is "finding ways to run the football" that include talented freshman receiver Brandon Polk, and said there is no doubt in his mind Hackenberg has the talent to be a first-round NFL draft pick.
