TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabama quarterback Jake Coker could miss a few days of practice with a foot injury.
Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban said in a statement Monday that Coker's injury is minor and doctors believe he will make a full recovery. Saban says the senior quarterback is expected to miss "several days" of practice. Saban didn't say when or how Coker was hurt.
Coker is among the contenders to be Alabama's starting quarterback for the opener Sept. 5 against Wisconsin. He's battling redshirt freshman David Cornwell, along with Alec Morris, Cooper Bateman and freshman Blake Barnett.

Coker is the only one of the group to have thrown a pass in college. He's a Florida State transfer who backed up Blake Sims last season.
