San Diego holds on to beat Butler, 28-27

SAN DIEGO (AP) Chris Wilson and Anthony Lawrence combined for 322 yards passing and three touchdowns, Ian Dobek intercepted Butler quarterback Matt Shiltz potential game winning 2-point conversion pass with 16 second left, and San Diego held off Butler 28-27 on Saturday.

Wilson finished with 192 passing yards and on TD, and Lawrence had 130 yards and two touchdowns.

After Butler's Adam Rogers recovered a fumble with 6:54 left, Matt Shiltz led the Bulldogs on a 12-play, 80 yard scoring drive which cut the Toreros lead to one and set up the final 2-point play.

Both of Lawrence's touchdowns came in the first half, a 47-yard strike to Zack Holland and a 24-yarder to Brian Riley, which helped San Diego (9-2, 7-1 Pioneer League) to a 14-7 halftime lead.

Riley had six catches for 139 yards and two TD's.

Matt Shiltz led Butler (6-5, 4-4) with 388 yards and two touchdowns.
