Scott Frost will not coach Oregon in the Alamo Bowl

Published Dec. 10, 2015 2:01 p.m. ET

Former offensive coordinator Scott Frost will not coach Oregon in the Alamo Bowl against TCU as he continues to try and build a program at UCF as the team's head coach.

The Ducks have yet to hire his replacement, meaning play-calling duties will fall to either head coach Mark Helfrich or wide receivers coach Matt Lubick.

"Obviously he has a full plate," Helfrich said of Frost, per The Oregonian. "It's a testament to our guys, to our players, to our program that he has that opportunity. ... He wants to participate but can't."

Lubick joined the Oregon staff three years ago and is considered the favorite to land the offensive coordinator job.
