Source: Baylor's breakout backup QB out for rest of regular season
Baylor freshman quarterback Jarrett Stidham will miss the rest of the regular season, a source told FOX Sports.
Stidham, who has completed 69 percent of his passes and thrown 12 touchdowns against just two interceptions, is sidelined due to a broken bone in the back of his ankle. Stidham had replaced starter Seth Russell earlier in the year after Russell was knocked out for the season with a neck injury.
Stidham started the last three games for Baylor -- including the 44-34 defeat against Oklahoma, the team's lone loss -- and has thrown at least one pass in all 10 of their games.
The seventh-ranked Bears (9-1), still with lingering hopes of reaching the College Football Playoff, play at arch-rival TCU this weekend. Third-stringer Chris Johnson played well for Baylor after Stidham left the game last week in the 45-35 win at Oklahoma State.
