Spring check-in of the Wisconsin Badgers
Wisconsin has been a hot name in college athletics as of late.
Their men's basketball team reached the NCAA Championship game, the football team reached the conference title game last season, and it was recently voted the best college town in the Big Ten. So what better time to check in on the Badgers spring progress so far?
Mitch Sherman of ESPN.com sat down with Athletic Director Barry Alvarez and picked his brain about many subjects but one interesting note was his remarks on Paul Chryst's progress to this point:
"He knows our culture here, and he knows the formula to win here," Alvarez said. "And he’s teaching it to some young players who weren’t lectured that. They don’t understand it. He’s making sure the coaches understand the importance of recruiting in-state and the importance of the high school coaches here, the importance of how we play and how we practice."
To coach for a long time under Alvarez, it's imperative to understand the culture of Wisconsin especially since the AD perfected that culture himself as the long-time football coach. To see more of Sherman's sit down with Alvarez click here.
