Stanford DB Zach Hoffpauir leaning towards MLB
Stanford DB Zach Hoffpauir may be one of Stanford's best defenders next season; however, he may not even be on the team by the time September comes around.
Hoffpauir, a two-sport athlete, is deciding whether or not to consider a jump to baseball full-time. In fact, based on his quote below, he makes it seem like he will opt for baseball.
"I’d say that if I wanted to play pro baseball, this would be the year to do it," Hoffpauir told The Stanford Daily's Do-Hyoung Park. "I’m very solid - I’m 100 percent signable, and I want to sign this year. If I get what I want, then I’ll go."
Because of his potential future in football, Hoffpauir may be able to get a nice sized bonus from a major league team. In essence, teams may be forced into paying Hoffpauir not to play football in 2015.
