Stanford jumps to No. 7, leads 4 Pac-12 teams into the College Football Playoff rankings

After its last-second 38-36 win over then No. 6 Notre Dame, Stanford has once again made a jump in the College Football Playoff rankings.

In the final installment of the rankings before the committee makes its final decision on Sunday, the Cardinal came in at No. 7, moving up from No. 9.

The Cardinal will take on No. 20 USC in the Pac-12 Championship game on Saturday in Santa Clara, Calif. Stanford still has a shot to make it into the College Football Playoff, but it is likely going to need some help from Florida or North Carolina.

Meanwhile, No. 16 Oregon moved up in the rankings once again after finishing its season on a six-game winning streak that saw it beat both the Pac-12 North and Pac-12 South champions.

Utah stayed in the rankings at No. 24, while UCLA and Washington State dropped out of the rankings after season-ending losses to USC and Washington, respectively.
