Stanford ranked No. 21 in first AP poll

In the first Associated Press rankings of the 2015 season, the Stanford Cardinal are ranked No. 21. This marks the fifth consecutive season that the Cardinal have debuted in the AP's top 25.

Stanford was one of six Pac-12 teams named in the AP's initial 2015 poll, along with Oregon, USC, UCLA, Arizona State and Arizona. The Pac-12's six teams only trails the SEC, which had eight teams in the top 25.

The Cardinal will face five preseason top 25 teams this season, including four top 15 teams: Oregon, USC, Notre Dame and UCLA.
