(STATS) - Stetson's football team will honor the memory of teammate Nick Blakely at Saturday's season opener against Sacred Heart in Connecticut.

Nick Blakely, a 19-year-old redshirt freshman, died Monday evening after collapsing at a team practice.

Stetson players will wear stickers with Blakely's initials and his No. 37 jersey will be on the Hatters' sideline.

Sacred Heart is planning to hold a moment of silence before the nonconference game.

Blakely, from Lawrenceville, Georgia, was on the sidelines shortly after Monday's practice began when the defensive back complained of not feeling well and collapsed. He was transported by ambulance to Florida Hospital DeLand and later died.
