RICHMOND, Va. (AP) Joe Carbone threw two touchdown passes to Ray Bolden, Donald Liotine ran for a score, and Stony Brook capitalized on turnovers to hold off Richmond 27-24 on Saturday.

Richmond (4-4, 2-3 Colonial Athletic Association) closed to 27-24 with 3:51 to play on Kyle Lauletta's 20-yard TD pass to Cortrelle Simpson, but Stony Brook recovered the onside kick and ran out the clock.

Lauletta's 5-yard TD pass to Dejon Brissett pulled Richmond to 20-17 late in the third quarter, but Carbone hit Bolden with a 22-yard scoring strike on Stony Brook's next possession. The defense forced a fumble on the Spiders' next series and held Richmond to 47 total rushing yards.

Carbone, 19-of-29 for 161 yards passing, opened the scoring with a 10-yard TD pass to Bolden that was set up by Darin Peart's recovery of Brissett's fumble on a punt return. Liotine's 3-yard scoring run gave the Seawolves (6-2, 5-1) a 17-10 halftime lead.
