The BYU head coaching job is an attractive one, but far from a traditional one.

BYU's coaching hire history exemplifies that. In 2000, Lavell Edwards' replacement hire came via word of mouth. At BYU, the new head coach must be interviewed by an LDS general authority. Things are just done a bit differently in Provo.
