TCU got a commitment Thursday night from three-star junior college defensive end Mat Boesen.

“Everything at TCU just clicked for me, and overall it was the best fit for me,” Boesen said on Twitter. “I’m extremely blessed and thankful to have this opportunity.”

Boesen was originally enrolled at Boise State but was suspended after a pair of criminal charges were filed. The first was for careless driving and the second, which was dismissed, was for obstructing officers. Boesen was dismissed from the team after that for a separate violation of team rules.

Boesen is a 6-foot-4, 245-pound defensive end. He played at Long Beach City College last season.

Ex-Boise defensive end Sam Ukwuachu is in the news, too. He was found guilty of a 2013 sexual assault of a Baylor athlete. Ukwuachu was dismissed from Boise a year earlier than Boesen was – also for violating team rules.
