TCU WR Doctson (wrist) out for remainder of regular season
A dozen days ago, the TCU Horned Frogs were unbeaten, ranked eighth in the College Football Playoff rankings and trying to make a case for why they belong in the coveted final four.
Now, they’re just trying to keep the season from completely unravelling — and now they’ll have to do it without one of their best players.
Receiver Josh Doctson, one of the top wideouts in the nation with 79 catches, 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns, will miss the remainder of the regular season with a wrist injury, coach Gary Patterson announced on Wednesday, but added that Doctson could return for a bowl game.

However, later Wednesday night, the fifth-year senior posted to Twitter a thank you to TCU fans which sounded an awful lot like his playing days at the school were done.

Doctson originally suffered the injury in the Nov. 7 loss at Oklahoma State.
What’s worse for No. 18 TCU (9-1)? Those two remaining games in the regular season: at No. 7 Oklahoma this Saturday and at home against No. 10 Baylor on Nov. 27.
The news also comes on the same day that Doctson and TCU quarterback Trevon Boykin were both named to the list of 15 finalists for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award.
Boykin is also injured and may miss the Oklahoma game.
