Tennessee gearing up for the possibility of coldest game in a decade
If you plan on hitting the road to Missouri with the Vols this weekend, you better bring your warmest coat, as the weather is expecting to dip possibly as low as the 20s.
“Missouri will be another great venue, and then you add the uncontrollable factors in terms of the weather conditions and all that,” Tennessee head coach Butch Jones said. “Everything is your mental approach. It’s your mental disposition.”
Jones also discussed the challenges of preparing his team for the cold this week with unseasonably warm weather hitting east Tennessee.
“Well, that’s challenging in terms of how you simulate it in practice, but you have to start controlling your mind,” Jones said. “Those uncontrollable factors, that’s part of the game, and it’s being locked in that zone, having that mental focus and preparing for it, and being prepared."
