Tennessee scores twice, forces fumble in span of two minutes to force OT vs Texas A&M

No. 9 Tennessee forced overtime on the road against No. 8 Texas A&M thanks to some late-game magic.

The Volunteers appeared to be hopeless, falling behind 35–21 with just 3:22 to go in the fourth quarter after a long touchdown run from Aggies quarterback Trevor Knight. But Tennessee’s Joshua Dobbs pieced together a six-play, 65-yard drive that took just 1:15 to bring the Vols back within a score. 

On Texas A&M’s ensuing drive, running back Trayveon Williams took one 72 yards down the left sideline and looked poised to ice the game, but was stripped near the goal line. The ball fell out of the end zone, giving the Vols the ball at the 20-yard line on a touchback.

Tennessee took the ball 80 yards to even the score with just 41 seconds to go on a Dobbs touchdown pass to Alvin Kamara.

Knight would lead the Aggies back down the field to set up a potential game-winning field goal from 38 yards out, but kicker Daniel Lacamera missed to the left, sending the game to overtime.

In the extra session, Knight scored on A&M’s second possession, and Dobbs threw an interception, ending the game.

The Aggies moved to 6–0, while the Volunteers fell to 5–1.
