Tennessee State QB Ackerman-Carter to seek transfer
(STATS) - Tennessee State quarterback O'Shay Ackerman-Carter will seek a transfer after he requested and was granted a release from the program, Tigers coach Rod Reed said Monday night.
Ackerman-Carter is coming off ACL and MCL tears that he suffered in the third game of his redshirt sophomore season. This offseason, the Tigers signed former Florida quarterback Treon Harris as a transfer.
"O'Shay felt it was in his best interest, as well as his family's, to move on at this time," Reed said. "We appreciate all O'Shay has done for our program and wish he does well in future endeavors."
Ackerman-Carter passed for 1,279 yards and 11 touchdowns and was named to the Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer Team in 2015. He threw five touchdowns in the first three games last season.
